Clare Caulfield – Printmaker
Clare specialises in producing limited edition screenprints and original work mainly with a theme. Her work depicts a lot of the places she has travelled to Clare also uses various printmaking techniques within her work. Her love of drawing and use of line have been developed into Drypoints and Screenprints.
Drypoint is a method of Intaglio Printmaking in which the Artist draws by scratching directly onto a metal plate with an etching needle. Every print made is original and unique. The plate also wears down after a time therefore only small editions of drypoint prints can be made.
Clare also transfers the lively drawings taken directly from her sketchbook onto paper and canvas by means of screenprinting which she combines with hand-painted acrylic. Therefore every canvas is an individual piece in itself.
Gerard Hobson - Printmaker
Gerard has enjoyed woodcarving and has just completed a print making course in York. Gerard has a particular interest in the process and the technique of linocut, which was similar to that of woodcarving and the result of this has been a series of linocuts of birds and hares.
