Tom Marine and Christine Relton

Tom Marine and Christine Relton both artists work together and have spent 15 years painting from their studio overlooking Wharfedale in Otley. Christine studied at Jacob Kramer in Leeds and Tom from Hartlepool at Byam Shaw and Chelsea College of Art. Their most recent times feature Yorkshire and the dales. Although their paintings are created together they do not work on the
same canvas at one time, sometimes over painting and slight alterations using acrylic which is fast drying and allows for manipulation. The paintings of Tom and Christine are in permanent collections in The House Of Lords and they exhibit internationally. Their work shall be on show at the gallery from February to April 2012.

Matthew and Louise Dwyer of the Saltbox Gallery provides a showcase for all applied art and contemporary crafts including their own work; as artist blacksmith and jeweller. “We are selecting new pieces and curating exhibitions for the coming year, starting with early spring the gallery will feature new artists Claire A Milner, Tom Marine and Christine Relton from Yorkshire. It is exciting to find such a range of work in our local area and to feature artists who are so inspired by the scenes around them and whom also show internationally.”
