Clare Caulfield from Bradford enjoyed her year at Bradford College where she completed her Foundation Studies in Art & Design. Introduced to experiment with new techniques and processes and to develop creatively in completely new disciplines including illustration and screenprinting, both of which feature very strongly in her work today as an artist and printmaker. Clare has studied at Bradford College and moved to Staffordshire University to complete her first class degree. She developed new techniques and processes that are a signature in her work. Clare uses watercolour, pencil and collage in the originals. The style of her line drawing and use of mark making that is strongly recognised also in her drypoints and screenprints. Drawing has
always been a very important part of Clare’s work. She is fascinated by architecture local coastal towns such as Staithes, Whitby, and Robin Hoods Bay, which depict a birds eye view of a fishing village, market place, New York Flat Iron Building or Parisian life outside a brightly canopied pavement cafe, from which she strives to create spontaneous lively linework. Clare’s work is on
show until April 7th 2012.
